The compositions are entirely by the pianist, ranging between different styles, with an uncontrollable fantasy and without boundaries. Positive thoughts await the listener in relaxing colors like Green, followed by a song that presents more melancholic color, Violet. The dialogue between the two musicians works in a special, exciting way, completely in tune with the ideas of the performed music.
Manu Katché knows how to enrich music with colors, and also in tracks like White or Indigo, his presence involves engaging rhythms that give a special atmosphere to the performance. As with all the works of this pianist, you keep listening to the record until the end being fascinated by her way of making music: between improvisation and composition, classical and jazz, without resembling a crossover project at all!

Ogni incisione della pianista russa (ora residente in USA) Yelena Eckemoff trasmette delle emozioni all’ascoltatore ed anche ai musicisti con cui suona, come si può notare su questo nuovo disco in duo con il batterista francese Manu Katché.
Lei è un’artista completa così che oltre alla musica nel booklet si trovano suoi dipinti e testi che descrivono le sensazioni che le hanno dato i colori. dal bianco che apre il disco al nero che lo chiude lei affronta tutti quei colori e le sfumature che influenzano le biografie degli umani, accompagnata in modo magistrale da un batterista che si presenta come un partner, più che un accompagnatore, ricco di proposte e ritmi, ogni volta dando all’esecuzione quel qualcosa di speciale che attira l’attenzione.
La scittura delle composizioni è tutta della pianista, che spazia per diversi stili con una fantasia irrefrenabile, senza confini. Spuntano pensieri positivi all’ascolto di colori rilassanti come Green, seguito da un brano che ci presenta un colore più malinconico, Violet. Il dialogo fra i due musicisti funziona in modo speciale, appassionante, completamente in sintonia sulle idee nelle esecuzioni.
Manu Katché sa arricchire di colori la musica, ma in brani come White oppure Indigo presenza ritmi coinvolgenti che danno all’esecuzione un’atmosfera speciale. Come sempre quando si tratta di questa pianista si ascolta il disco fino alla fine restando affascinati dal suo modo di fare musica, fra improvvisazione e composizione, classica e jazz, senza assomigliare per niente ad un progetto crossover!
