Yelena Eckemoff is classically educated Russian pianist, who lives and works in the USA. With good effect moves in the aesthetics of improvised music. Yelena Eckemoff jest klasycznie wykształconą rosyjską pianistką, która mieszka i tworzy w USA. Z dobrym efektem porusza się w estetyce muzyki improwizowanej. Płyta nagrana w składzie z Markiem Feldmanem, Benem Streetem i Billym Hartem zawiera 11 premierowych kompozycji na skrzypce, fortepian, kontrabas i perkusję. Eckemoff już wielokrotnie ubierała swe utwory w brzmienie saksofonu, a nawet wibrafonu, jednak wzbogacenie instrumentarium o skrzypce to dla niej nowość. Pozyskanie do składu legendarnego Marka Feldmana (współpracownika m.in. Johna Zorna, Johna Abercrombie i Uri Caine’a) w znacznym stopniu wpłynęło na kształt albumu. Mimo innowacji brzmieniowej, miłośnicy talentu pianistki znajdą na jej dziewiątej płycie to, dzięki czemu jest dziś uważana za jedną z najbardziej zjawiskowych postaci jazzu za Oceanem. Kompozycje charakteryzuje wrażliwość, dbałość o formę i osobliwe dźwiękowe piękno.
